How It Works
Spam Defender is more than anti-spam or anti-virus software, it is a complete E-mail Defense System engineered specifically to protect business computer systems from spam, viruses, fraud, and potentially debilitating email attacks. Unlike conventional computer security programs requiring installation on each computer in your network, Spam Defender works on the domain level, filtering all messages and attachments incoming to every mailbox bearing your domain name.

Here’s how it works:

Once you sign up and provide us with a list of your corporate e-mail accounts we will setup your account and email you with new MX settings which you will change in your DNS control panel (Network Solutions, Go Daddy, etc). If you would like us to help you with this process just include your Domain Registrar access info in the notes field. Once the change takes place in your DNS all incoming e-mails are first routed through Spam Defender servers before they ever reach yours. Our filters use a voting algorithm based in a sophisticated form of intelligent reasoning to capture more than 99% of all spam and malicious e-mail attacks, and also scans all attachments for spam beacons and web bugs. All spam and potentially harmful emails are quarantined, while valid emailed are forwarded on to your accounts. Once a day, all e-mail accounts are provided with a quarantine report, listing all blocked traffic. Users are provided with the option to allow, delete, or even view each email safely before allowing it to forward to your server if they are unsure.

Spam Defender also filters all outgoing mails, preventing the spread of devastating viruses and worms that may be accidentally introduced by other means, and effectively quarantining the problem.

Process Outline

  1. Order Spam Defender for your domain.
  2. Wait for an email with new MX Record settings.
  3. Change your DNS MX Records.
  4. Look for a spam report in your email.
